October was a tough month for us. We were down and out with the flu. It was not cool. But, we had so much support from friends and family. Our friends brought us meals, groceries, medicine, phone calls, emails and most surely many prayers. Forrest got sick first, then Dan, then Andrew and then Adelaide and I. Of course its always hard to see your kids sick. It made it a very long two week stretch. We also missed Dan's family who came in town for a visit during that time. (worst timing ever!) We were so sad to miss them! Hopefully seeing these pictures will cheer them up! We love and miss you!
We did all get better in time for "Halloween Week!" Did anyone else feel like Halloween was ALL week long?! :) We had something Halloweenish almost everyday of the week leading up to Saturday. By the time Halloween week was over, the boys were so wired from all the excitement, candy and crafting, it took us a couple of very long days to get back into our jive. The boys still ask me every other night or so if tomorrow is Halloween. Ha ha!!! I guess they really did get the impression that Halloween can last as long as you want it too! With five days of non-stop parties, it was beginning to feel that way. It was really fun though :)

Anyway, I am sooo grateful I have some pictures to post!!! Our camera broke the first week of October (that helps to explain our extended absence from the blogging world) but Kate was so thoughtful, and lent us her extra camera!!! I don't have many pictures, but the whole week was a lot of fun!
We went to Dan's work for a trick or treating party on Friday. His company is really into Halloween apparently!!! I mean, really into it. Every department went ALL OUT and decorated their office space to compete for a prize. They gave away lots and lots of candy including a lot of full size candy bars. I was expecting a few bowls of candy here or there but instead the place was decked out! They even had dark tunnels with lights, plastic bats and spider webs. Oh, to say the boys loved it is quite an understatement!!!
Andrew insisted on being Frodo the hobbit again, I thought that was funny! Forrest had two costumes this year...a lion, and a tiger. He had fun choosing everyday of "Halloween Week" which one he wanted to be. Oh, and the tiger costume actually fit him this time ;) Adelaide was a ladybug. Here are some random pics from the week:

What a bunch of cuties!!!!! Some of my favorite Halloween treats...well I'm just glad that you all were well enough actually to enjoy the week and the trick-or-treating.
Love Mom
So fun! You are always soooo festive and I loved that about you! I remember at Wymount, you were always doing something fun and creative, especially around the holidays. I love checking your blog and I hope you're all doing great!
What a great post! I am so glad it ended happier than it started! Being sick together is the worst, but thankfully you were better in time for Halloween week!
Look at your little girl! Oh, I could just eat her. And her mommy needed a girl to completely go crazy over.
I bet she is loved beyond comprehension.
Oh my! I don't think I could be more in love with an entire family! These pictures are breaking my heart. I miss you!
AHH!!! They are SO CUTE in their costumes!! And I love Addy's smiley pictures too! So sorry for all the illness, but I'm glad everyone was feeling better in time for Halloween. Dan's company's party sounds awesome!! And Heather, you look GORGEOUS in your picture!!
Oh my gosh, that Adelaide has stolen my heart!!! She is SO adorable!! And the boys look studly and handsome, of course, but man, Addy's gonna break hearts left and right!!! And I love that picture of the two of you - SO BEAUTIFUL!! You just radiate love, Hea!
Wow...I can't get over how beautiful Adelaide is! She looks so much like your other kids, but so feminine! I love the costumes, too! I'm glad you are all feeling better.
What fun pictures, you are awesome. It's fun to see what you come up with to do.
That's how all holidays should be - at least a week long or more :-)
Heather I am in love! Adelaide is the cutest lil' girl ever! That smile!!! I think she looks a bit like Drew. You two make the cutest kids.
Glad you're over the flu and hope you guys stay healthy the rest of the winter.
Your kids are so cute! I have to say...I could just steal Adelaide from you. She is the cutest little thing I think I ever saw. And what great eyelashes! You look amazing as ever! I sure miss you. So my question is, are you going to make a huge wall size turkey that everyone can put gratitude feathers on? That is one of my favorite Thanksgiving memories! I miss you and love looking at your sweet family updates!
Two things...One: Heather, you are absolutely gorgeous and two: Addy looks EXACTLY like you! She is an absolute doll!!! I wish I could meet that little darling. I was sad to hear you were all sick during my family's trip out there...but I'm going to plan a family reunion in Oregon next summer, so hopefully everyone is healthy for that! Love you all!
I love the picture of you and Adelaide. It is so cute! She is such a pretty little girl! The last picture of her is adorable! The boys look so cute in their costumes. How fun to have a whole week of Halloween!
